Default I feel stupid for asking this about the alarm system but...

If I set it to one of the modes where the alarm is enabled, but the ign kill is disabled and the alarm goes off, will I still have to sit for 30 minutes before I can start the car?

Also, just out of curiosity, if the alarm is in passive mode, what would set it off if the doors were unlocked and they were opened with the alarm armed?

Aftermarket or factory/OEM alarm system?

Model year 2000 was the first year using GM's Passlock. Previous years used a less sophisticated alarm with a starter circuit kill system. No time delays on pre-2000 cars.

Hmm. I was under the impression that with my 99 I'd still have to let it sit in RUN for a half hour if the ign kill was activated. Hopefully I don't ever have to find out though.
