2006 VUE 3.5L
2004 ION-2 Sedan
Question Would love some opinions.

I have a 2006 Saturn Vue 6 cyl. 3.5L. I'm having 2 problems and would like to get some opinions on what the problem might be.

1. After starting the car there is a 2 second grinding noise. What do you think? Starter or flywheel?

2. After removing the key from the cylinder, the chime continues to go off until I shut the door. Also, with the key removed, the driver door will not lock the doors (electronic locks). It will lock the doors for maybe a second and then immediately unlock them like the key is still in the ignition. What do you think? Ignition cylinder or Ignition switch?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I'd suggest getting the starter looked at to prevent more damage/costs. My new-to-me Vue has a slightly worn ignition cylinder and lets the key out early and the chime sounds until the key turns the cylinder all the way. I'd be concerned about the key if anyone other than me was going to drive the Vue.
