I just picked up a 5.1 quart jug of Pennzoil Platinum for $24.99 + tax - $10 rebate at Meijer. It's a manufacturer rebate, so you should be able to get it just anywhere.

for a buck a quart i'd prob let it go 3k miles before i changed it out. although last oil change was 12k with m1-ep adding about 1.5 quarts in that time

Since our cars can go through a bit of oil, this is like a Christmas present to me IF it is okay to top up the conventional with this Syn/Blend, between oil changes. Anyone know of any reasons why I shouldn't stock up on this stuff at a buck a quart? The synthetic portion won't do anything to the seals to make them "seep" will it.

You can absolutely top-off Conventional with Syn blend. The blends are usually just 10% Syn.

This is very good oil. For $1 a Quart with in-store pick-up or shipped to your front door for FREE, it's hard to pass up for anyone not running a top quality Syn. Especially for oil burners that get fed whatever- how can you go wrong!?!?!

Major price & delivery score.

Pitcher

You mentioned in store pick up or home delivery. Is the in store pickup thing just in your area, I wonder? I looked online and the only option for local stores seems to be online purchase.

I don't have a problem with that except it's Christmas season and I won't be home to take delivery until after new years (and by that time, I'm sure it'll either be sold out or the deal will be over).

I guess I could have a case or two delivered to my mom's house, where I'll be visiting over the holidays. That might be an option.

Mister Cee, if the store has it in stock, then you can do in-store pickup. If not, online is the way to go.

Glad everyone can save some dough.....

Was going to post this as a thread, since technically, no rebate is involved thought I'd better check here first, though, and saw Pitcher beat me to it by several days

Just ordered 24, never thought I'd see $2.00 gas or $1 oil again

I read this extra tip, after I ordered, on slickdeals.net:
Quote:
Use code GIFTME and get a $25 gift card for every $100 spent online in a ship-to-home order

Yes, that "GIFTME" is on Autozone's website too.

You could buy 200 quarts, turn around & sell 1/2 for $2 on Craigs and get your remainder stash for FREE. Or use GIFTME and make money.....

The Castrol Syn/Blend 5W-30 looks like its sold out. The 10w-40 still looks to be available.

Although I'm in Las Vegas, I'm going to visit my mom for Christmas, in Arizona. I checked down there early this morning. Located one AutoZone that still had some of the 5w-30 left in stock. Mom live 3 miles from the store and I had her go down and snag it for me.

I can't even imagine how much of that stuff must have practically "leapt" of the warehouse shelves at $1/qt.

If that's not the loss leader from h*ll, you can imagine what kind of markup there usually is. What was the original price..$4.75/qt ?
