Dazed What type of motor for 2005 Vue

It seems that I have a rod knock. Somehow the vehicle was short 4 quarts of oil. I'm told that the motor needs to be replaced. I've been asked what motor do I have. I know that it's the 2.2 Liter.

Does anyone know if a 2005 Saturn Vue motor is one of these?

1. exhaust manifold is drilled & tapped for AIR check valve, EGR port in head
2. exhaust manifold is drilled & tapped for AIR check valve, w/o EGR port in head
3. exhaust manifold is not drilled & tapped for AIR check valve, EGR port in head
4. exhaust manifold is not drilled & tapped for AIR check valve, w/o EGR port in head

Default Re: What type of motor for 2005 Vue

Mine was #4

Replaced it with #3 with a block of plate (#3 was cheaper than #4)

So either 3 or 4 work.

For 1 or 2, see if there's something attached to exhaust manifold

See this thread:

Post #4 is AIR (not EGR as stated)

who cares? Just swap it for the one on your existing motor...rod knock doesn't ruin manifolds.
