Default coil pack won't come off!

I know I'm missing something. The two bolts holding the coil pack on came out just fine, and the pack wiggled around but seemed to be caught on something. The ignition module has this plastic ear on top, above the posts, but it doesn't seem all that springy. Tried getting a screwdriver between there to pry them apart and got to the point of feeling like I was going to break something.

Doing this only to check cleanliness of connections. Car is a 96 SL.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

You may have missed the bottom bolts.

There's 4 bolts total. 2 on the top and the 2 bottom ones.

I'm trying to remove one coil pack of the two, with two terminals, for two cylinders. Two bolts? I did get a bolt from the bottom which was symmetrical to the one on top. I have a feeling there's some sort of clip that held the coil to the module in the factory for that temporary period of time before it was bolted to the car.

Yes, the coil is retained in place by two bolts and a clip. The clip is on the bottom but it has to be compressed, squeezed, not pryed. You have to use a pair of pliers or your fingers to squeeze the two pin together and then pull straight and gently on the coil, nothing can really make it stick there unless someone put some glue underneath...

Hope it works all right

Just take the entire module out with both coils, it will make your life easier.

Hey...I was just about to suggest that...and to clean the whole mess while it's out and apart...
