2003 L-Series 3.0L Sedan
Dazed 03 L300 no start unless the throttle motor/ throttle body unpluged

Hi all. I've recently received an 03 L300 with the 3.0 it was running fine then it sat for about 2 months while the paperwork cleared. I went back to drive it and it started and idled ok but had not throttle action when I pushed the pedal down nothing then I shut the car off and now the only way the car will start is with the throttle motor/ throttle body unplugged. I noticed with my code reader plugged in to the OBDII plug it will not communicate unless the throttle motor is unplugged. After the the engine starts and drops off of high idle the engine runs very rough as if it is misfiring but I never get a misfire DTC or the SES lamp does not blink during a misfire event. I've swapped the throttle motor/ throttle body with the same results looking for any suggestions on what to check thanks.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

If I understand you correctly, you have already tried changing the TB for another one you know is OK, and the problem remains. This means that there may be a problem in the wiring or connectors. Look for signs of abrasion or say squirrel gnawing on the wires and corrosion or bent pins in the connectors.

I have looked at the wire harness and pin fits and I don't see wires damaged. Is it possible that the 5v reference is shorted through a sensor, have you seen that at all.
