Default O2 question

I have a quick question about o2 sensors. I am putting a 91-92 exhaust manifold in a 99. I know that the sensors are a different bung size. However, the connector is identical. Since they are both one wire sensors, any reason why I cannot just go with the 91-92 that fits and not mess with drilling and tapping like the wiki says?

My '96 SC2 with Cali emission's doesn't care that it has a '91/'92 sensor plugged into it with the header. It's not fond of the leaking catalytic converter though, nor the rear O2 sensor with a bad heating circuit

How are you accounting for the different bolt pattern on the manifold/header?

Fetch, Lol...well, I shouldn't have that problem as it is getting a full, new 2 1/4" exhaust. Good to hear it works properly.

Purdue, Easy...by swapping out the crappy roller-rocker head with a 93. I am doing a full deebs build. Hoping for about 150 whp.
