Hi everyone. I just bought a 2000 SL1 with 131,000 miles. When driving straight and above ~35mph there is a distinct loud noise - it almost sounds like the car has a fart cannon muffler. When I turn right at speed, it gets worse. If I turn left at speed, it's silent. If I turn even slightly left to move across a lane on the highway it is silent.
This sounds to me like the front wheel bearing/hub. I am planning to purchase the hub repair kit from RockAuto. Does anyone know if the hub repair kit at RA comes with the spindle nut? Any reason to suspect something else? I will be replacing the front rotors/pads at the same time due to warped rotors. After reading about all the diff pin stuff, I am concerned this could be the problem - luckily the pick n pull over here sells transmissions for $55.

Depends on which kit you get. The Moog kit doesn't come with a new nut. But there's another kit (Timkin?) which does. In any case the nut and washer are sold separately on there for $3 and change.
