Code P0455

What is a LARGE EVAP leak, my scanner kicked out a P0455 code, only to have a trusted friend who is a great mechanic suggest that it's going to be labor intensive, but the worst case scenario would involve dropping the gas tank to do the repair. Anybody have this happen to them?

Large EVAP leaks should be easy to find (missing gas cap ) or split hose.

Thanks for the help! It's almost that time again(emission inspection). I need to pass the inspection, cause riding a bicycle 42 miles round trip to work is not an option.

Most likely cause is the gas cap. I went though this with my '04. DO NOT buy a universal from your favorite local parts store. If there's one thing the Vue is overly picky about, it's gas caps.

Get one from your GM dealer for about $20. They'll ask you if it has a plastic or metal flap inside the fill tube. Both of mine are metal.
