Question Installing aftermarket JVC radio - What stuff do I need?

Good afternoon Saturn Fans! I need a little help. I will most likely be purhasing the following aftermarket radio for my 08 Saturn Astra 4d SE tonight. JVC - 50W x 4 MOSFET AppleŽ iPodŽ-Ready In-Dash CD Deck with MP3 Playback Model: KDR530 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/JVC+-+50...&skuId=4005163

It does not appear that a harness or adapter comes with this stereo. To connect this stereo to my car what harness or other parts will I need? I have already purchased the metra dash kit.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Just got off the phone with best Buy. They tell me that their system says I need the metra 70-9003 harness. They said they do not have it at the store but I can google it. Found the item on Amazon for like $5! Does this look like the right harness?

I checked the metro website and it has the same number. Gotto be right, right?

Based on my past experience, check Crutchfield.com. The prices are pretty much the same as Best Buy, but if you buy a radio with a price over $119.99, you get the wiring harness, faceplate adapter, radio removal tool, and the antenna adapter for free (that stuff is probably going to cost you $40 alone). Plus Crutchfield gives you Astra specific instructions for install, and they have great tech support if you have problems during the install. It's been a while since I ordered from them for my car, but I used them for my Vue back in 2006, and was very happy.

So you'll probably be able to get a little nicer radio and in the end spend about the same money because of all the free accessories.

Already bought the radio from amazon for $12 less than bestbuy. Ordered harness and dash kit from amazon. I should be good to go as long as I can get stock radio out. You mention a removal tool? So standard tools won't work?

I've used a bent metal coat hanger shoved in the 4 holes of the radio, and then removed the glove box (4 torx screws). Once the glove box is out (it comes out as one unit, but you need to pop the light out of it), you can push the radio out from behind. You'll want the glovebox out anyway to help make the connections to the new radio.

You'll probably need an antenna adapter too.
