since laws vary by state, check with your friendly neighborhood police department.

I'm sure some kids would love to have those on their bikes.

actually, the first place I ever saw these was for bicycles. This was like 10 years ago. Made them for commuters who ride their bikes on city streets.

they probably wouldn't be illegal on a car, as long as you can't see them from front/rear. Pretty universal that the only lights allowed to be seen from the front are white and amber, and to the rear, read and amber (not counting back ups).

Yes yes, please have all kinds of colored turn indicators. But they're probably illegal too. your safest bet if you want to run the tireflys, is to get amber ones. nothing wrong with amber side lights.

I've never heard of them being illegal here in Colorado. The first place I saw them was in Dallas though. And they weren't the kind that blinked....those look kind of goofy to me. These stayed on all the time, and in addition, they matched the undercar neon lighting. Can't rememebr what kind of car it was. But it looked pretty cool at 60 MPH.

I have red ones on my VFR800, helps people see me at night from the side.

It depends on the local if they're legal, I think the blue ones are illegal everywhere.

I'm not sure if they are illegal in NY state or not, but I do know for sure, they're gay no matter what state they're in...If someone can't see an entire VEHICLE from the side, chances are a ridiculous little light isn't going to let them know its there....in fact, they would probably spend so much time in their little mins trying to figure out what the little lights are, that they plow right into the big non lit object in between the lights...the damn car.....this ranks right up there with those silly assed LED washer nozzles...

Valve stems?? Are you talking about the windshield washer things on the hoods of many cars but, thankfully, not on Saturn S series cars (not sure about the rest)?

Those things are generally asking to get stopped in most states.

Most states regulate the number of lights that you can have visible from thet front (eg: two headlamps, two driving lights, two side markers) and stuff. Adding more than that is typically not legal.

Some cars have fender lights and stuff that may be visible a smidge from the front but anything from the factory is already DOT approved and state laws (West Virginia aside) exempt DOT approved lighting from their no-no lists.

Recently WV disallowed Jeep Liberty Rubicon editions with the overhead roof lights (for those dark shopping mall parking lots) to be registered there even though they met OEM specs and were sold from the dealers like that.

All of those extra lights have a caveat on the box that says "off-road use only" "check local laws where applicable" so that you can't say they did not tell you first.

I have zero lights on the side of my motorbike. If it helps, I'll put it on there.

I do see a lot of junky civics out there, with spoilers and blue valve stem lights though.

They're $5 for a pair at Radio Shack.

In North Carolina, showing blue lights, red lights or an excess of white lights will score you a ticket. Otherwise, the green ones and purple ones are fine.

However, people usually have the blue ones and never seem to understand after being warned and warned and warned.

Besides, I think they look very out of place anyway.
