The car runs just fine. No leaks no smoke.Could it be one of the sensors? And where is it located at? Any ideas ? I really appericiate your support.Thank you.

Are you getting any SES codes? Might need a new thermostat, especially if you've never replaced it.

When you cleaned out the reservoir, were you able to hear the float moving inside it?

The best thing to do (and I did this...works like a charm) is remove the overflow tank, take it into the house and put a little dish soap in it. Cover the holes and shake vigorously. This will clean out the $h1t in there. Reinstall it and it should be like new.

As a precaution, if you have already cleaned the overflow tank, and the T-stat was replaced; it may be time to check both the driver's side top of the radiator (For the infamous hairline crack), and also check the water pump. If you see coolant (or dried coolant remnants) underneath the passenger side of the car, you may have a very slow leaking starting from the water pump. If the radiator is leaking, the whole radiator will need to be replaced.

They are fairly easy to replace, and a new water pump will run roughly about $25-$50, while a new radiator will run anywhere between $85-$150, based on the brand.

Welcome to the forum.

Get the radiator changed.

When my end tank cracked (they all do right around 10-12 years), then my expansion tank cracked, then my water pump seized.

I think I'm right there with you. Radiator is brand new (from previous owner) but I've had to replace the coolant reservoir, and now I'm hearing an intermittent loud squealing noise from the water pump area.

This could also explain the coolant light coming on every now and then.

To the OP, glad you found your problem. Just REPLACE the radiator. It takes a whole 20 mins if you have a decent socket set and mediocre mechanical skills.

And when you do get it changed, make sure you use the Silla or Delphi replacements. Both can be found on amazon.com

if Andy from AMR Enginnerring is still in the fabrication biz, contact him. he makes/made a metal radiator for the S-series, 1994-2002

Classic sign of a tensioner nearing end of life.

or it could be the alternator, power steering pump, A/C compressor, and/or *gasp* even the crankshaft pulley

best you can do is take off the belt and inspect it for cracks/imperfections and spin all your drive belt accessories by hand to find the noise(s)...

If the tensioner is at the end of its life, probably safe to assume the belt has had a long life as well and should be replaced with the tensioner. At least, that's what I'd do.

I thought the leak was in your radiator?

I've thought about changing my coolant reservoir as a precaution/appearance issue. It's all yellowed and faded and next to the new looking washer fluid reservoir it seems fragile and looks horrible.
