Default Crazy Electrical Problem

yesterday when I was driving around, I got the battery light and the check engine soon light when I hit the brakes or accelerated. After work, the car was dead. We jumped it and it started. This morning, it started fine and I drove it to school. When I turned off the engine, all electronics were dead. There's some kind of box under the hatch under the e-brake handle, and it was clicking. Weird. After school, as I expected, the car was dead. We tried to jump it, to no avail. We gave up on it, and were going to push it forward a little, because it was parked in the street, close to someones driveway. When they were pushing it, I turned the key, and it cranked. Eventually, after pushing it back and forth a little, we got it running, and I drove away. Since then, it's started fine every time I tried. Even tried to overload the electrical system to see what it would do... (headlights, blower, defroster, brake lights, hazard lights, window switches gas...) Didn't stall. Didn't even hardly lose any rpms. Yesterday, I managed to purposely kill it by hitting the window switches. The only thing I can think of is a loose wire, or possibly an erratic battery that doesn't always hold a charge.

Sounds to me like your alternator is on it's last leg.

Most likely loose/corroded battery cable or the connection at the fuse box under the hood. There is a ground 'bar' that is susceptable to corrosion but the exact location escapes me, do a search on it in this forum and I'll bet you'll get valuable info.

Looks like it may have been the body ground that comes directly off the battery. We'll see what happens today.
