Default Service manual options...

Thought I'd post on the options for Aura service manuals that are available.

2007 Saturn Aura XR Service Manual:

You can google for this. It's a downloadable .pdf file which sells for about 10 bucks. It's available on eBay I know. I have no idea what the original source was. I have a copy but really never use it as I have the GMSI on DVD. Here's one source:

Chilton Pontiac G6 2005-09 ($25)
The G6 is very similar to the Aura
OK, it's Chilton, but it's much better than nothing
I have this book & it's quite useful
The new Chilton Malibu Gen 7 book is not out yet

I know what you're saying but I really think their editing has improved over time. I just wish they wouldn't span generations like they often seem to do. And they do leave some details out. I would say it is more valuable if you also have the GMSI to fill in the details. My 2 cents.

I have the Malibu & G6 books & think they are well worth the little money they cost.

I looked the Haynes book for the Malibu, since its the cousin to our Aura's. It covers the 2004-2010 model years. Funny thing is, 2004-2008.5 is the gen six Malibu and 2008.5-2010 is the gen seven Malibu. Neither have very much, if anything in common.

Kinda funny how Chilton/Haynes can put out a one inch thick book that covers various genertions and models. When it takes four 2-3 inch books to do it properly for one model.

I have the paperback version and the DVD version for my Aura and Suburban. Simply the best money can buy.

Thanks. It will probably not be worth getting one.

By all means then, save your 16 dollars for the dealer mechanic's $125 hourly rate. It's a much better deal.

Well, after taking car of my autos since 1954 my maintenance bills have been sort of low. Some of the newer cars have devices that I am not familiar with but after looking into them it is really the same old stuff. But, a description of some of the workings comes in handy and that is all I would want in a repair manual.

Hum, my daughter has a 200 Cavalier with a weird problem and she took it to a local mechanic with a labor cost of $72/hr. I thought that was too high!

I know this is an old post but concerning this alldata.diy
the 26 a year is that access to the information to the year or what meaning like is it downloadable or after a year you would just need to pay the 26 bucks again ?
