Default Brake Warning Light

Now I know that the brake warning light in the cluster is there to tell you when you have a problem, but can it sense anything besides low fluid level or a problem with the e-brake lever sensor? It wasn't on last night, but when I picked up my morning coffee, it was on this morning.

The first thing checked was the fluid level. Same as it was 2 days ago, when I had my rotors replaced. The brakes are as solid as ever, work the same, and when holding the pedal as hard as ever (an old test I was told to use to check for leaks), the pedal does not sink at all. I am hoping it's just the sensor. Anything else I can check?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Indeed it's tied only to the hydraulics and the parking brake switch. Might want to re-inspect all the hydraulic lines, etc., while an assistant hold the brake pedal down; then you might be more likely to see a small leak. Also inspect the parking brake switch.

could stuck parking brake mechanisms (like on the brakes, not through the switch) also cause the (!)BRAKE to come on?

The BRAKE light is triggered by the ebrake handle, so no..
