If I thought your poll was fair in the way it is presented I would take part. I tend to push away from those whom display the junior high school personality.

The problem with the way it is presented is, it looks like a somebody with a chip on his shoulder put it together to nip or needle those that donít agree with his perspective.

Those with enough self control I am sure will boycott the poll as well.

Thank you for the input. I would like to have as many people as possible take part in it, as to obtain accurate results. Do you have suggestions on how to present the poll less offensively?

I do promote conventional NGKs and I wanted to see how many people are using them, in order to make sure a sufficient number of Saturn owners are enlightened as they should be.

Prejudice much?

Just pretend a different user posted this poll. I really don't see any problem with it. I think it is a great poll, and I won't be the only one intrigued by the results.

None of the four choices apply.

#1 There are other choices available that work just as good.
#2 I dont use Platinums in S-Series Saturns.
#3 Not a question to me. As I know the answer.
#4 I obviously know what a spark plug is.

there's enough of evidence here that points out that platinum plugs ain't for s-series...

s-series cars like certain things like frequent oil checks, copper plugs, silicone around their headlight housings, clamps on their sunroof drain hoses, ect.

s-series cars don't like certain things like infrequent oil checks, platinum plugs, plastic tipped ects, plastic tanked radiators, ect......

Well, I figured pretty much everyone agreed the NGK was the best. May I ask which one you use?

This poll made about as much sense as this one would:

Do you think hondas suck?

1)Chevy was given to us from god
2) I drive a honda
3) I like rice cans
4) whats a rice can?

(1 has nothing to do with the question, 2 doesnt answer it, and 3 and 4 are just plain stupid)

#1 has everything to do with the question, because that is the reason people say they use them on this forum

And #2 answers the polls question with a "no"

#3 is for those that are unaware of the platinum incompatibility debate.
And #4 for those that are undecided on the issue.

Thanks for the uncalled for flaming.

For me? I've looked in the Owner's Handbook. It says AC FR4LSJ. That was a conventional spark plug. They don't make them anymore, but I may be able to find a set of NOS ones on eBay or something. Should I use them?

Should I also use Dexron IIe ATF that my Owner's Handbook lists?

But, perhaps someone has a 2001+ Saturn that lists the NGK number still used today. That'll work. But should they also use the conventional engine oil and oil filter that it recommends, and that they use at the retailers? Should they use GM Dex-Cool?

A premium spark plug would be an upgrade, just as synthetic oil is. NGKTECH works/worked at NGK, he can tell you how they went with the NGK simply as a means to save cost. Saturn had a hard enough time keeping costs down and their prices competetive enough as it was.

I don't mind upgrading my Saturn, especially on cheap maintenance items that don't cost much more anyways. I'm pretty sure that is why the Saturn users of premium spark plugs choose them. Therefore, I wouldn't question them.
