Default vehicle speed sensor???

ok,my speedo does not work and she is limited to 4000 rpms,I know that means vehicle speed sensor,so I replaced it and same thing, the sensor only has one wire to it and it looks like there should be two, does anyone have a wiring diagram or pics of the wiring, maybe I am wrong all together?oh yeah SL2 with a manuel trans.

...
1998 SL2 246,000 miles, I bought the car for $1000.00,best grand I ever spent!
New battery, alternator, belt tensioner, starter, plugs, wires and fluid changes is all I have done.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

You should have a yellow wire and a purple wire according to these

You may want to look at OldNuc's photo gallery - he has a lot of schematics in there. There is a built-in limiter that keeps you at 4k rpm or below in Neutral (and Park for auto trans, iirc)

...Wait, what, I actually won that eBay auction?
Guess I now (12/2008) own a 1998 SL2, silver, 5 spd :p
102k @ purchase, now 162k
And now (7/2010), a Craigslist 1997 SC2, white, 5 spd

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Forgot to ask - have you looked at the first sticky post in the S-series general forum?

Adventureoflink started a thread of common S-series issues. Somewhere in there is a link to the 1998 factory Service manual (200mb); there is probably a schematic in there

The FSM is awesome to have, even though I usually get my info (plus tips!) here
