Default A BSTI question/stuck in park

Is the BSTI solinoid the same as park lock solinoid in 95 Saturn sc2? And also can that solinoid cause trans to slip in 3rd and 4th gears? Or do i have 2 seperate problems going on. Car tries to get stuck in park. Which is new problem, slipping is old problem still running down. Both intermintant. But not always happen at same time. Park only gets stuck when very cold. But even cold outside once cabin warm. Shifts fine out of park. Heard BSTI is tied in with park/netral switch. if i unplug switch car doesent slip. Already replaced. Yet car slips. Can a BSTI cause so much trouble?

Im going through the same problem with the Brake Transaxle Shifter Interlock (BTSI) System, I have a haynes repair manual for all S-Series Models from 91-02. According to the book the BTSI system is not tied to the Transaxle Neutral Safety Switch, Therefore You Are Having Two Separate Problems. The BTSI prevents the car from being shifted out of park. The Neutral Safety Switch tells The PCM which transaxle gears to allow depending on your Shift Lever Position such as P R N D 3 2. If your gears are slipping most likely its a valve body issue, search forum for slipping transmission or reverse slam cure.
