Ok, this is different from the off-road question I asked earlier. Where have you gone in your VUE? I see some people post about driving to Texas from Colorado and back.
I drove from Vancouver, British Columbia to Victorville, California and back to Washington state in mine.I stopped off in Sacramento and picked up 3 more people on the way down and dropped them back off on the way back. It managed to take the Grapevine with that load passing other vehicles with ease. It got great mileage down and back with the average of 26 mpgs. I was thinking about driving to Georgia and back next year but changed my mind because I just started school and won't have the time, but Lost Wages seems do-able. ... This is sad... My VUE left Louisiana only twice in 4.7 years. Once to Mississippi to evacuate for Hurricane Gustav, and the other to Alabama to go to a funeral.
Each time the highway mileage was in the very high 20's. Driving ~75 mph. I had a 2010 Grand Marquis this week and at 70mph the DIC said we were getting 29mpg. Not shabby for a V8 powered dinosaur. ... 2006 Black VUE Red Line

Longest trip we ever did so far with the wifes '02 was approximately 700 km away from home base (Edmonton, AB to Cranbrook, BC). Total round trip of approximately 1600 km. Not very far but overall we were extremely impressed by how well the truck did. We were loaded to the gills with stuff (week long trip and 1.75 year old to keep entertained).
The mileage was excellent, the ride was good and the truck had plenty of passing power. The 3.0L gets dismissed pretty easily around here because it isn't the famed Honda 3.5L (which I love and have in my truck) but it holds its own. The longest trip the '06 has went on so far is to visit my folks about 200 km out of the city (round trip of 400 km). Definitely an overall smoother engine on the highway and power in spades when needed. Mileage wasn't super but mostly because I was "experimenting" with my then new purchase. I think these are great vehicles for long trips. Lots of room but not a boat to handle on the road. Plus they are nimble enough and have power when it counts.

Well, our Vue had to travel a pretty long way just to get to us and the dealer so we could buy it. So, Spring Hill TN to Honolulu, HI. In fact, we bought it while it was still in transit. Once we transferred back to the mainland it followed us to Seattle, WA. Shortly thereafter it was a 4200 mile round trip to the Midwest. Oh, we have driven to Oregon for a weekend getaway, but nothing like we did the fall of 2003 to the Wisconsin.
Love the heated leather seats and sunroof. I really like the Opel based V6 since it is basically the same engine I have in our 2000 LS2. Oh, the LS2? Wisconsin to Long Beach, CA and then on the boat to Hawaii. Then from Hawaii on a boat to Seattle. From that point in Seattle in 2003 it hasn't departed the state, but wow did it stretch it's legs before then. ... "So, this is where dreams come to die." I put 400 miles on it when I first bought it in Feb. Only had 7 months thou. I got 31 avg. mpg on trip. Never got that again. LOL I drive 98% city so mileage is low. Since I got it I avg. 20 mpg and I keep track on every fill up. I use www.fueleconomy.gov.

All over FL looking at schools, and then part of GA on that same trip. The gf wanted to see Georgia, we turned around after we got scared that all the billboards along the interstate were for bibles.
But yeah, it's been to every part of FL outside of the really really west part (like Pensacola) and Jacksonville.

I still consider Rochester, NY home, but got school in Raleigh, NC. I make the 1300 mile round trip about 3 times per year (Christmas, 4th of July, Wedding/Another reason). Also, from Raleigh I travel to Columbus, OH and Newark, DE about once each year to visit other friends at school.
Although, with this stupid vibration I have at high speeds (fixed everything under the sun pretty much, to no avail) we've been starting to take my girlfriend's 09 Focus which gets way better gas mileage. -Joe

Just did a northern-IL to ATL and back round tripper for my brother-in-law's funeral. Averaged 24mpg, even through mountains (Smokies), and in 80-mph-5-lanes-across rush hour traffic into and around Atlanta.
I hate that town.

Our VUE has traveled quite a bit. Our longest trip has been from Columbus, OH to Topsail Island, NC. We have been to St. Louis, and all around Ohio. Right now we are at 168K miles and still going strong after our new clutch.

My first Vue was a 04 5-speed manual. I drove it back and forth from Atlanta GA to Benton Harbor MI serveral times and I also drove from Atlanta to Helena Mt and back.
My current Vue is 04 V6 auto. I just got back from a trip up to Oskosh Wi. I also have a 08 Astra which I drove to Washington DC last year but I guess that would be for another thread.
