After about a year's service, and not being opened that often since I use the sunroof mostly as window instead of a vent, my Webasto Hollandia 700-series glass panel is allowing more wind noise.
Not a hint of water leakage, even after heavy rain or a strong car wash. But I have to close the sunshade to reduce the noise. The installer tells me there is a known seal shrinkage problem with these roofs and I should watch for a recall letter during the next six months (!) and I should contact them when I get the letter. Only then can I go in and get the seal replaced. A quick search finds NHTSA has information on their site that says the problem is the glass "debonding" from the frame and gives a phone number of 888-749-8632, which I hope is Webasto and will call tomorrow. Has this happened to anyone else in Astra-land? Short of surrrounding the panel with duct tape (which won't happen), does anyone have another fix to reduce the noise until they replace the panel/seal/bond?

I appreciate the post, but I'm also looking for work-around ideas to reduce wind noise until they make the repair.
I was thinking of silicone cleaner, etc., when it was said to be the seal, but if the glass is going to come out of the frame, there's more to worry about than noise.

Do you have any pictures of the roof liner with your sunroof installed? I'm curious of what they did with the ridge that runs from the cabin lights back. Besides your current issue, has the unit worked well? I may be in the market for this soon.

The roof (Hollandia 700-series) seems a little small, but it works well. I'm sorry I'm about ten days from being in the same city as the car, so I can't get any images until after 10/5.
On the sunroof recall front, I called Webasto's toll-free number, established a claim and the replacement panel was shipped to the installer within a few days. Plan is to have it installed after 10/5.

The Astra was in and out of my installer's shop in less than 20 minutes for the recall. The new glass has a felt gasket instead of a rubber gasket, so it seems to seal better.
The installer told me another customer had his glass panel fly off a car and smash the grill of another car. Mine was fixed in time, thankfully. As requested, here are pics from inside the car (with the shade closed) and outside.

Glad to hear you got it resolved quickly. Thanks for stopping back by to update with pictures! Did you lose much in headroom from the install? I ask as my head scrapes the ceiling as it is.

I'm 6'0" and have no issues with headroom, even when wearing a baseball cap.

My Astra XR came with a full double size factory sunroof from back to front. I have not experienced the issues mentioned here with noise. Recently however, the auto roll up sunshade has come undone on one side and I cannot open it now. Has anyone else seen this issue? Is there a fix?
