Default OUCH!! :( Vue hitch bit me!!

Spent a few hours in the ER Friday night.

We were getting ready for a camping trip, I was putting the hitch cargo carrier on, and tried to line up the holes in the receiver and the shaft of the hitch carrier itself so I could put the pin in...well, I should of got a light..I tried doing it by feel.

The hitch went in too far,too quick and pretty much scissor effect took the tip of my finger off!! Not the first time i've ever done it this way, but sure as hell gonna be the last!

Been a long, fun, but painful weekend!!!

No breaks, guess theres still skin, no stitches. Just seems like I gotta deal with an open wound for a few weeks now thought there would be more to the ER visit than just sticking my hand twice with stuff to numb my hand just so they could clean it, then wrapping it and sending me on my way. No antibiotics or even pain killers Still bled next morning changing the wrap, turned white and almost passed out!

Took forever in the hosp,(3hrs start to leave), and had my finger open and leakin numerous times while they left and did whatever they had to do with other patients as well.

Ugh! Doctors and mechanics lately!!!!

I sure as hell feel like an idiot for it even happening in the first place.

Lesson..don't stick your fingers in the holes on your hitch putting it on...bad idea!!!!

OUCH!!!

I know how that feels. Not from that exact stupid thing but I've done enough of my own stupid things that I've ended up with the same kind of injury more than once.

I got branded also when I was trying to chain the VUE to a car transport. Trying to avoid snagging my hand, I touched the tail pipe. Never again. This was on my first move, not my Cali move. Had no idea the pipe got that hot within 5 minutes.

Ouch, that hurts to read!

I haven't been bit with the hitch holes, but the pin has got me a few times. Using gloves doesn't help, cause I can't grab it.

I leave my hitch on. (It sure has made an impression on two tailgaters...)
