Default 2000 LS2 no-start

I need some help here. I don't know enough about the L-series cars to help my sister diagnose the problem with her car (it doesn't help that I am in California and she is in Wisconsin). Anyway, she has had a problem a few times where she has driven an hour or so on a warm day and then after the drive the car won't restart. She says the car will crank, but will not fire. It just happened again today and after letting the car sit for an hour or so she went back and the car started. Any ideas? It sounds like a fuel pump issue to me, but I know there are people here who know a lot more about these cars than me.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Sounds like the crankshaft position sensor is on the way out, it's by the oil filter housing.

I agree on the crankshaft sensor, when it gets hot it opens, engine will not start, when it cools the circuit closes and the engine runs again.

Thanks for the replies. I'll let my sister know so she can pass on that info when she takes the car in.
