First off, let me just say what most of us are thinking: I hate you. The closest thing that GM built over here that compares to the Twintop is the convertible hardtop Pontiac G6 -- and the build quality is junk. The only other convertible hardtops in the GM stable are the Corvettes and XLRs.

Second, we didn't get xenon headlights over here, but all Saturn Astras did get projector headlights (bi-halogen if you want to be specific). You've got a couple of options: 1) buy all the necessary parts from Vauxhall, 2) buy the stock halogen projector headlights and an aftermarket HID kit, or 3) hit the auto recycling yards. Since the Astra is far more popular over in Europe than it is anywhere here in North America, "used" might be the way to go.

PS: I typed all of this using a very poor Scottish accent.

...
"That's a Hruck Bugbear, manufactured in Eastern Europe in the eighties and imported to the States. People mock it as a poor man's Yugo. I consider it the pinnacle of Cold War Balkan engineering."

Welcome ........ GM would have been wise to bring the entire Astra lineup to the states along with a few engines.

GM was pretty stupid not to bring it. The EOS has been able to sell for quite the premium and they are virtually the same deal. Not like people buying the EOS care about the 2.0T. The astra 1.8 is probably more reliable anyways.

Exactly. The EOS is quite the popular car around Boston after the Mini.
