93 Saturn Sl2 speedometer not working??

Help!! I need a Saturn wizard to solve my problem.-----The speedometer used to work--sometimes the service eng soon light would come on and it would go haywire and the car would shift real weird. I would shut the car off for about a minute--start it up and light would be off and everything fine. I replaced the vehicle speed sensor--same thing. Finally the speedometer stopped working all together and the eng light stayed on. I put the scan tool on it---Vehicle not communicating message. So i figured it had to be the ECM. I replaced that and i have the same thing?? All my other guages work.

I have the same problem, although my spedometer, tachometer, and gas gauge all dont work.. I dont believe its a fuse problem. I received a tip that it could be the instrument cluster. To replaced those are a bit expensive, but it would solve the irritation.

my 96 sc1 did what your gauge did, shifting crazy and my gauges going crazy. but this was after the starter was changed and my husband did not correctly attach the ground cable. i did not have any SES light. have you done any replacing lately? maybe a connection is lose or lost? sounds electrical.
