What post number are you looking at? Most links are good so need to know exactly which post number is broken. The post number is in the upper right corner of each post.

I am looking at post #1. It is a wonderful instruction but all pictures are broken from what I can see.

The actual links in post #1 still work but the in-line pictures are gone for good.

Super Bright LEDs has many more dash bulbs now that did not exist when this was written. Pull your cluster and compare the base dimensions with the Super Bright LEDs: https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/...cluster-gauge/ Actually measure, don't guess. Once a specific bulb is selected there are detailed base dimensions available.

This is not as tough as it sounds. The clusters all have minor differences so it is in many cases a pull and measure task.

Thanks for the great info. I had no idea where to find replacement bulbs for the instrument cluster in my Mom's 2002 Saturn SL1. Did a Google search and as usual I found my answer to a Saturn question here. I decided just to go with 1.5w original-type bulbs from Bel-Metric, even though they are beige in color not blue. Once again thanks.

For folks needing pics, member bachands has some good ones in this post.

I had to click on some of the pics twice for them to load (browser or forum issue) but these are great pics

First- my car is the 2002 SL1. Okay folks. I see this thread still lives. Amazing! Even so, and even though the question has been asked about the HVAC bulbs, no answers have been given on what the original part number is. I did find the part numbers for all the bulbs in the instrument panel and replaced all of them with original bulbs. They were expensive, yes, but I don't like the idea of not being able to control the brightness of LEDs properly with the dimmer control switch. I like the instrument panel dimmed when driving when it's really dark because bright instrument panel lights affect my ability to see clearly where I'm going, etc. Then too, there are many complaints about getting the LEDs to work properly.

So! My question is, does anyone know what the part number is for the original bulbs in the HVAC panel? I don't mind the soldering aspect. I've done a lot of soldering over the years, much of it on Radio Shack 'police' scanners. And that required some pretty intricate stuff. I'm 81 years, 6 months, and 5 days old. That's better than just 81 and 1/2! heh heh.

This Saturn forum is tops, folks! Tops! Thanks to all who have kept it alive. I've found a lot of answers here. We've had Saturns in the family ever since they came out. I hope the ones we have now keep going for a long time and that I keep finding answers here.

I don't know the number, but I did use Radio Shack micro lamp #272-1092 to replace one of the push button bulbs in my 2nd gen (the one behind the button that lights up when you press it in). It's very dim, not as bright as the original light.
https://www.radioshack.com/collectio...rolamps-2-pack

Radio Shack has a decent selection of 12v mini and micro lamps but don't show light output. If you have a local store, they might let you test brightness on a 12v battery

I've never been able to find the original bulb number or even their specs for comparison.

I don't know if anyone has a light meter that could measure it, but if you could determine a comfortable light level, you could find an LED with a matching output

Thanks again for keeping this thread alive, about half the cluster bulbs are out in the 2000 SL2 so just ordered the BelMetric tan-base incandescent bulbs. Still $1.91/each in quantity 10 or more. https://www.belmetric.com/ob2452mfx6...ath=18_156_189
