Maf p0102

Hello, I recently found this forum and have spent many hours just reading old posts. This morning the check engine light on my 2007 ION3 came on. I took the car to autozone and they read a P0102 MAF code. I looked the code up in the how to library and it is DTC P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit Low Frequency. Now that I have the code I really do not know what it means. Could it be that I just need to replace the sensor or is it telling me that I have another problem. My wife hasn't noticed any problems with the car lately and I just had it at the dealership last weekend to replace the recalled fuel pump and they did a check and only recommended replacing the transmission fluid and cleaning the injectors. The car is a 2007 ION3 sedan manual transmission with almost 55000 miles. Thanks for the help I would appreciate any insight on this problem.

you have a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. but if you must repair it yourself, first try cleaning it by getting MAF sensor cleaner at your local parts store and check the wiring/connector. then erase the code and try driving it. if it still sets a code, you need a new sensor.
