Default Very simple ECTS question.

Does the ECTS sensor have to come from the dealer and will it be the upgraded one?Dealer says they have to order and if they do I have to take it even if it is the wrong one.(Yah right)Guess they could make me pay first. So are all sensors going to be the brass ones or is there a possibility that I will get the plastic one?Or can I just get the one from the parts store that is brass? It is made by standard and has the brass end ?
Thanks!

They should be brass by now. The one's from Napa I've gotten were anyway.

The proper way to fix a S-Series automatic is to replace it with a 5spd O:)

Get the Standard brand sensor. Dealers are fine for some things, but in this case, they can take it in the ECTS....

Just ask the counter guy at the FLAPS for a STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # TX73 or equivalent. Be sure to very carefully inspect the inside of the connector while its off and also open the wire loom and look for any splices. You just open the short part that has just the 2 wires in it.
