2008 Astra XE
Default Storage compartment

So, I keep looking at the filler pieces in the roof of the car, just behind the courtesy lights above the mirror. I cannot help but think that it was meant for some type of storage compartment. Is this the case? Has anyone found something for here? Any pics? Thanks for any info.

Some people have put displays up there, I'm thinking of putting some switches up there for footwell lighting or what-not. It's empty space behind that panel.

back in 86 my dad bought an astro, i had it built to my spec, and in that same area we got from the factory lights like in an airplane.

i think we also had lights in my wifes rendezvous, and the old silhouette my dad replaced the astro with.

check your local junkyard for a people hauling astro or minivan or rendezvous or aztek there may be pieces in the gm parts bin that fit.

I have been thinking that that would be a good place to mount a Homelink system, like as in the Aura.

MMMM... Celery. Did you know it's one of the rare foods that you will spend more calories digesting than what you will actually acquire from it?

I believe that's where the satellite phone is located that connects to OnStar

No, that is where the motor for the sunroof is, the panel in front of it has a mic but that is not where the phone hardware is, nor is it a satellite phone, its a standard cdma cellular device with an esn that verizon will activate, not sure if sprint will do this as the onstar agreement is with vzw.
