Default where to buy "blend door actuator" ?

had a clicking noise, turns out it was the blend door actuator sticking and trying to move.

I have been to my local auto parts stores to buy a new one, and they have nothing. i have looked online and they dont seem to have anything either. Anyone have any ideas? i suppose a junkyard is my next step if i cant find it.

Is this the door check?

http://saturnseries.net/DIY%20Guides...or%20Check.htm

If it is, there's a very good chance that the popping isn't a problem with the door check, it's just that the metal on the door flexing & popping back to shape as the check reaches each stopping point. I removed the door check on my wife's car it got so bad.

*edit* on second thought, I'm guessing this is an HVAC part. Very good chance that junkyard or dealership are your options.

Part number 16124567. Get it from a junker car as 91-99 are all the same or buy a new one here: http://www.trademotion.com/splash/in...?siteid=214643 Its a 34.00 part so I would be on the way to the J/Y and the dealer will want much more.

Thumbs Up Re: where to buy "blend door actuator" ?

Old post, felt it needed an update. This part is available at Autozone/any of the generic auto parts places now and (more importantly) I figured out the easiest way to replace it on a 2003-2007 ION! It is WAAAAAY up the top right corner of the dash, the easy way to replace it is to remove the top plate on the dash, then remove the 1 visible 10mm bolt on the right side, then make 2 cuts (I used a utility knife, but it was HARD) to 2 small joints near the bolt so you can remove that section of the plastic covering the far right top corner.
It's right there, just under the windshield, just pop it out (no screws hold it) and pop in the replacement. Then put the plastic back that you cut out, it will be held in-place by the 10 mm bolt. Reassemble the dash top. enjoy.

I'll post some pics later.

You are posting on a S series forum about an Ion. You need to post this in the Ion section.

Thank You for your help with this problem. I will buy the part and look to have it replaced around here. I am not a mechanic and do not have any tools at this time. Thanks again.

Very nice gears. I went ahead and about a new actuator from the dealer. The gears are prone to failure and the j/y's I looked at seemed to be marginal as well. $50 but now the recirc button always works.
