Not sure, but normally you just pop the blovebox out of the way and drop the blower down from the pass side footwell. I need to stick my head under there and see, but it should be pretty straightforward.

Has your warranty expired? If not let the dealer do it.

I've owned 24 Saturns. 23 S-Series and an Aura. None have ticked and none of the current my current five do. Might have more to do with where you park and whats getting down into the HVAC system than an isuue with the blower motor itself. Something as simple as bits of leaves hitting the sides of the squirrel cage like playing cards in the spokes of a bicycle wheel can make this sound.

I don't have a ticking noise but have been unimpressed with how loud the blower fan is for the amount of air it puts out. Been like that since day one, so not due to a clog. One of the few complaints I have with the car, and it's not a really a big deal.

Actually my 2007 XR was making the same faint ticking on low. Brought it to the dealer yesterday for replacement. Ticking is gone but now when it is on high there is a vibration felt through the dash, brake pedal and steering wheel. Back to the dealer first chance.

I'm waiting for my replacement blower motor to come in - it's made that ticking noise for quite a while. However, I waited until now, with my Aura being only a couple of hundred km from coming off of total warranty, to get it replaced.
