Default Coolant leak

Plain & simple. Coolant is dripping from the passenger side of the engine (2.2L).

Can't seem to find it's source as no hoses are in that area. Seems to becoming from lower part of engine.

Could it be a leaking water pump?

Passenger side closest to firewall? Check under water pump weap hole, probably a little oil and coolant, slimey. Might be leaking from there. If so, new water pump needed. If not leaking, a littly slimey is normal.

It is the side closest o the firewall. So I am guessing it is a water pump failure. More than just a weep. More like a small puddle overnight.

Generally what does it cost, and what does it entail to replace?

Also, if the pump is leaking coolant in the timing area, should my chain be replaced at this time?

Replacing just the water pump not too bad of a job, using the water pump sprocket holding tool, which can be rented or borrowed. While your at it you will replace a couple seals on the thermostat housing, and the thermostat since your in there. The pump has a seal but that usually comes with the new pump. Rockauto has all the parts for under $100. I suggest the CARDONE SELECT Part # 5513138 water pump, it comes with the seal. The pump weep hole prevents coolent from reaching the timing case side of the bearing, so it is unlikely to get coolent in your oil from the pump. Replacing the timing chain is a lot more work, but you can just replace the pump and stop the puddle now. The chain can be done later without removing the pump, since the pump runs off the balance chain and shafts.

I'm going with the water pump. A coolant leak from the heater core would be closer to the firewall. This leak is around the front of the engine with coolant dripping on the front sway bar.
