Need some help. I have a 2004 L300. lately I have been having an issue with the blower motor. It started out at first with the blower motor just not coming on at all. Sometimes would come on after about 10-15 minutes of driving and sometimes it would work just fine. I then relized that if I slammed either of the front doors real hard the blower would start working. The problem got worse now in that when the blower is working it is blowing at a reduced rate on all speeds. The weird thing is when you make a left turn only, the blower blows at full speed on all speed settings. As soon as you return the steering back to center it starts blowing at the very reduced rate. I spent about 20 years as a Ford Tech but havent ever messed with a saturn. Seems like its got to be the switch or the resistor since the motor does blow full strength on left turns, but you never know. Where are these located on the model. Could use some advice before I get into it.

Welcome to the Board.
Pull the radio and HVAC control head if you need to. Behind them there shoudl be a a connector to/from the blower. I have seen a few with overheatedmelted ground wire terminals. ... A lousy day in paradise is still a day in paradise.

Your blower motor requires replacement. When you make a left turn, the force of the turn slides the blower shaft to one side in the motor. It just happens that little change in position lessens the friction from bad motor bearings and the motor speeds up. Once you straighten out the motor bogs down again. Directauto.com has the replacement for under a 100 bucks.
