2002 Saturn SL1 Alarm problem

Hello all. I have the vehicle as described above and it has a problem that is related to the alarm. After I get out of the car and not locking the doors at all by hand and completely closing them, when I go to push lock on the factory issued remote, the car beeps three times even if all of the car doors are closed.This results in the car not locking any of the doors Has anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it?

on my car a 2001 sc2 when i attempt to lock the doors with a door open it beeps 3 times, & then when the doors are closed they lock automatically. you said yours is doing this with the doors closed? your car thinks the doors are still open. are your door switches working? the 3 beeps mean one of the doors is open while trying to set the alarm/lock the doors...

Check your driver door switch. It's not hard to accidentally bump it with your foot and break it off.

Its not in the same place on third gens. Its on the side of the dash.
