Default Awesome milage

On Wednesday, after graduating college , I drove back to Texas with my 2 dr Astra packed to the brim with all my stuff. I figured that due to the excess weight my milage would drop significantly! When I got back to Texas I totaled up all my fuel receipts and was amazed!!! (keep in mind I used to drive an 04' lifted Wrangler) I made it 996 miles and only spent $94.01, and still have half a tank to drive around on! Hooray Astra!!!
I was so pleased I thought I'd share the news!

Assuming a gas price of $2.60 like about what it is out here (I assume Texas isn't too far off from Oklahoma), that makes about 36.16 gallons used on that trip, which gives about 27.5mpg. About average mileage right there, but a lot better than that Jeep he was driving.

We moved my gf's Astra from Utah to Ohio last week and got 31.7mpg over 1950miles with an average speed of 67mph.

Our lifetime average over 10100 miles is 26.7mpg with an average speed of 25mph. That means we've spent over 400hours in the car in the past 6months And I still have 2 more cars to move out to Ohio...

I averaged around 33 MPG on my trip to New Jersey Avg speed around 70. That was pre putting my wheels on. I'm not sure how much having my 20's on is affecting how accurate my mileage is coming out. Current stats are.

And I drive mt car very agresively so I don't think that's too bad.

I'm in my car over 4 hours a day. I do clean it but it's difficult to keep it clean when I'm in and out of it all day making deliveries.

Wow, last time I did a lot of interstate driving, I averaged around 34 mpg @ 70mph. That was over a 300 mile distance.

Then again, I am running my car with iridium spark plugs and 93 octane gas.

My driving is mainly stop and go between deliveries and I drive my car pretty hard. I think the larger wheel throw off the calculations some also.

Are you sure on that 36-38mpg figure? That's a good 10mpg off of what I figured, not to mention something I have yet to hear anyone achieve in an Astra.

Back in May:

From the BC:
Trip miles: 171.8
Average MPG: 36.2
Fuel consumed: 4.8 gallons
Average MPH: 53

That was approximately 80% interstate highway at posted limits. Only me in the car, no a/c.

Averaging about 31.5 overall with 8600 miles on the odo and mostly rural/town driving (5-speed manual). Pure highway gets about 34 mpg. Had no tanks below 30 since the very first tank in the car.

The mileage is decent, but not all that much better than our VUE GL, which is much bigger and has an auto. In fact, the VUE is a little better on the highway at 35 mpg. That said, there is NO comparison in how much fun this little car is to drive!
