Default New vehicles in Spring Hill's future

http://www.c-dh.net/articles/2011/09.../01gmplant.txt

Now that the whole UAW/GM mess is settled

Speculation is Gamma CUVs and Theta overflow from Canada, with the possible transfer of SRX from Ramos.

The Gamma-platform vehicles will be from GMC (Granite), Buick (the baby Enclave), Chevrolet (TBD) and Opel (for export).

Whatever is slated to be assembled there, it's good to see Spring Hill back on its feet and running, even if it no longer builds Saturn.

Glad the first owner of mine kept the Spring Hill sticker on the 3rd door. Nice to show off the fact that I roll around in a US-made hoop-dee.

I was surprised to read this , in view of mgmt's expectations for further costcutting/restructuring. Maybe a result of collective bargaining , but a welcome step for Spring Hill.

The Tennessean is reporting that one of two midsize vehicles slated for Spring Hill assembly is the strong selling Chevrolet Equinox crossover. They have not identified the other vehicle, but I'm willing to bet it's either the SRX or the Chevrolet Captiva Sport for fleets that GM is considering transferring from the Ramos Arizpe plant.
