Just Who Pulled the Plug on Saturn?

Quote:
Andrew S. Ross from the San Fransisco Chronicle: For East Bay Saturn dealer Inder Dosanjh, it finally is the end. As the franchise representative for dealers in 15 Western states, he pushed as hard as anyone to keep Saturn alive. But GM's out-of-the-blue shutdown announcement Wednesday ended all hope. "I was very surprised. I was shocked," said Dosanjh, who always believed the brand would survive even as its parent shriveled.

Blame the Board of Directors of Renault: Charles Goshn, and Louis Swichtzer.

We don't need no stinkin' French cars rebaged as Saturn...btw; did you know that Renault also has signed deals with Mahindra & Mahindra (India)?

The more I read about Renault and it's underpinnings...Penske made the right decision.

If Saturn would have been continued; it would have become a truly globalized amalgamation of parts in a car...with parts made and assembled from all over the globe. No reliability there.

Saturns were True American cars. If they would have continued it would have become a "Global" Car....
