Oh well, the rebadged imports would've been an insult to what Saturn originally stood for anyway, imo. Just as well...if you want to buy a Nissan with a Saturn badge on it, you can always buy one at a Nissan dealer and put the Saturn badge on yourself!

Sad to hear this. I'd say there's still a chance that something will come together, but not much of one.

When's the last time a brand with an active customer base went away? Somehow, this doesn't happen often, so this forum is entering unexplored territory.

People are still discussing the S-Series here, after all.

GM can go to hell if they think I am going back to Chevy. Nice try. Bye bye GM, I hope the death spiral doesn't last too long.

A-*******g-men.

I guess when it's time for my VUE to go to the big junkyard in the sky, I'll be getting a CRV.

I tried; it won't fit.

In the meantime, enjoy your Subaru and good luck in your search for the ultimate plastic paneled car!

The problem for me with re-badged Nissan's is the Nissan dealer is directly across the street from my Saturn dealership.

I still love my Saturn and my Saturn experience. Makes me appreciate what I have a what Saturn was...

Why am i in denial? This feels so wrong? And why do I think this is just some hard ball tactic? It is very hard ball indeed, if it is. Time will tell.

Not sure but I got rid of my last Saturn in 2003 & am still here, albeit on the Off Topic threads most often.

Same here.

There is some good camaradie around amongst a few of us. I have met some of you in person. And I still communicate with a few others through PM's & e-mails. Many have given me tips on great places to eat or stay when I am in their neighborhood. We wish each "Happy Birthday", "Happy Holidays",etc. We cheer each other up when we are down. And just to converse about BS that makes this place seem like a local community. I appreciate that more than just owning (or used to own) the same car make as me. Many times I have come with serious disagreement with fellow members. It amazes me that these people end up being my close friends here. Sometimes we are able to see the other person's point of view a lot more clearly than just taking what they say for face value.

Sure, the final nail was nailed into the Saturn coffin tonight with Penske's decision. We may not have that "Different Kind of Car Company" anymore. But it's good to know Charlie is still keeping this site open for us to discusss our cars, share experiences, and argue politix.

(i am right aobut that,charlie?)

Have a great day,
Vik

I hope Charlie will keep this site open and running---I still like Saturns and plan to keep the one I have now for some time(the resale value is probably going down the toilet anyway--I'll have to keep it a while) so I'll have something in common with others here. I have grown to know and like many of you and I look foreward to reading and posting with all of you. I'm sure the Off Topic and Political forums will still draw lively discussions. Even the Other Cars forum will be busy as usual. All I can say about Penske's backout is; So long Saturn, its been an interesting ride, these 19 years; I'm going to miss you!
