Default Rad fan seems to shake when on!

This just started happening today. The cooling fan seems to be shaking and vibrating and got very loud. Can this be tightened up to make this stop. Also went over halfway on temp gauge for the first time when this happened. Thanks in advance.

sounds like your fan motor just bit the dust. turn on the a/c & observe it. see if it's doing anything strange, or anything at all....

The fan kicks in around halfway up the gauge(which is when it always did). Comes on when I turn the air on as well. However the whole casing and fan shake like mad now when the fan comes on. Maybe it is on it's way out, but I was wondering if there was a chance it could have come loose and if so can it be fixed. Thanks again I appreciate any info on this.

Sounds like an out of balance fan blade, perhaps a piece broke off for some reason. That may cause the fan bearings to fail in short order.

Check the mounting points to make sure everything is solid, then from there see what is shaking/wobbling/whatever.

My guess is that the fan motor is gone. Check for broken blades etc as DonP stated to make sure you get what you need to fix it right the first time.

that's what i was about to post, something's damaged like a piece of the fan maybe broke off causing an out of balance fan. it sounds like the fan needs to be replaced as well, maybe someing from a junkyard would be good...

Check out Richpin's Youtube videos dealing with Radiator & Radiator Fan R&R. Very informative, and might give you ideas about what attachment points to check on the fan housing.
