Question Adding Cupholders where they used to be on earlier models

During the buying process of my 2009 Sky, I discovered that the 2 cupholders between the seats are not included in this year's production. Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit it with cupholders?

It is possible.

Be careful what you wish for, though. They're gone for a reason.

I find those two cupholders between the seats to be infinitely more useful than the half-@ssed, flimsy one next to the passengers left knee that never EVER wants to close. In fact, if you have a long enough straw, and you place your cup in the left-most holder, you can even move your head over close enough to take a sip of your drink while keeping both hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

I don't know the reasoning behind the removal of these two cupholders, but in my opinion, they made a mistake discontinuing it in the '09s.

I was among many who complained about them. Both cupholder designs are pretty useless, but the console one is really easy to bump open when shifting and is so shallow and unstable that the few times I actually used it bottles of water would get launched around the car. It annoyed the hell out of me in my 2007 Sky. I'll admit to missing it on very rare (maybe twice) occasions and in specific circumstances, but overall I'm much happier with it gone.
