Happy Clapsaddle Family buys Saturn Number 24

Thanks to the colder than normal weather and the OLD car my Brother had, WE now have ANOTHER convert to the Saturn Family.

His old 91 Cutlass was on its last gasp and he said if he could get a small wagon, he would consider a Saturn.

I had been looking for the "right" one since he first started talking about it several months ago.

He took delivery of a 1999 Sliver Plum SW2. It is an automatic with package and Cassette with EQ. Only has 47,000 miles and I convinced him to get the "warranty" that is almost a bumper to bumper type of warranty. He took one for 4 yrs/48,000.

So, ALL that I have left is to get one more of my brothers into a Saturn, then the whole family will be Saturn owners.

Our current Saturns are:

2003 AWD 6 VUE - brother
2002 FWD 4 VUE 5 speed - mine
2002 SL1 - sister
2001 SL2 Anniversary - son
2001 SC2 Yellow Coupe - brother
2001 SC2 Coupe - sister
2000 SL2 - brother
2000 LW1 - wife
1999 SW2 - brother
1998 SL2 - daughter

Maybe we can have a Saturn "Homecoming" all by ourselves

Wow! I thought that when the family gathered for Thanksgiving here we were doing well with four Saturns in the driveway. No way we will ever get to as many as you have!

That's awesome! Yall should sent your story to Saturn--your family should be memorialized at Spring Hill.

coolgreany,

Yes! Everyone should attend!

I was referring to hopefully, the NEXT Saturn Homecoming which if they follow traditiona would be in 2004.

BUT, if Saturn does away with this tradition, we could just Show Up.

prof,

It helps if you have a large family I am the oldest out of 9 kids and 7 of them live in Michigan.

The GREAT news is that some of them have bought Saturns several times and have not had any REAL problems. This in turn convinced the "holdouts" to give Saturn a chance, now that I work as a Sales Consultant, at one of the Retailers.

The BAD news is IF any of them have a REAL problem with their Saturn. Could make the family reunions a little rough.

Jim,

Wonder WHY you said that??

BTW, his name is also "Jim".

Wonder if that is a requirement to owning a "S" series Wagon?

2SL's&1SC,

The "Homecoming" I am referring to would be in Spring Hill, TN. Making plans for what I hope will be the third Saturn Homecoming, in 2004.

Hopefully this tradition will continue with Saturn.

Your family also sounds like they know a GOOD product.

I have thought a couple of times, buying a 91 and 92, just so I could say we have had a Saturn from every model year.

Al

p.s. I am in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Cool

John,

Yes it has its advantages.

BUT being the oldest (at 52), I also get some flak when things don't do well.

My Dad passed when I was 21, so I had some extra responsibilities at a young age. My youngest sister was only 5 when this happened.

Now if I could convince a few family members to become "Sales Consultants", we could tak over Saturn and rename it "Clapsaddle". :o:

BUT, if we did that we would NEED larger emblems on our Cars.

Maybe NOT a good idea afterall????

Dazed

mikthehickNC,

I think the NEW Homeland Security team, has a warning about more than 6 Clapsaddles' being together in any one setting. :o:

One of my Brothers does NOT really like to drive. So to get him to travel any distance, would require more time than if he used a covered wagon.

To make the Saturn Homecoming, if it is held in the summer months of 2004, would require him leaving in January, of 2004.

Al

p.s. Besides geting 10 Clapsaddles in one picture would probably BREAk any Camera.

Eric,

ROTFLMAO!

I can see it now. I am sitting in a room with folks all decked out in Saturn stuff. In the corner is a Dunkin Donuts truck and ALL the folks are chain eating donuts.

You should take a picture of one of your homes at Thanksgiving or Christmas or something with all the cars parked outside. Then send it to your dealer and Saturn.

Some one has got to appreciate this.

Idea

-j,

There is a Federal Law about having more than 6 Clapsaddles' together in one setting.

I do hope to get a group picture in the Spring. To try and convince my wife to take all our Saturns to Michigan in the winter, would take an act of Congress

Maybe we should contact Guiness (sp?) or drink some Guiness

Guiness is good at any setting. It's more of the dinner beer more
then the celebration beer. I think this gathering calls for my fav...good old budweiser.
