2003 VUE 3.0L
Default Factory Oil

Just a bit of trivia - I queried the factory about the strange-looking engine oil in my new V6 VUE (it has a green or brown appearance, depending on how the light hits it). They quickly answered that it's because they put a dye in the oil which glows under ultraviolet light. This is to check for oil leaks before the car is shipped. Cool.

Happy

It sounds cool! But is this initial Dye-motor oil applied to all new Saturn cars for QA inspection?

Or just the VUE?

That is a good idea but based on the L81-V6 history going back to use in Saab and Opel before Saturn, any leaking problems are more likely to be coolant related than oil. Maybe they should be putting dye in coolant tank as well.
