Do a search on skyroadster.com - definitely THE place to get your Sky info, IMO. I've seen several threads on "top" issues but I'm too tired at this time to do a search (I'm really surprised at how slow the Sky forum seems on this site).

The top is covered by the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty from the initial in-service date. If the car was certified used, then it may be longer. Either way you're covered if it's an RL- none of them are 3 years old yet.

There isn't one part number for the entire assembly anymore; the dealer will need to order the individual parts that need to be replaced.

What year is it? 2008 and on they changed the top to a thicker (and slightly heavier) unit. The reason given was better sound proofing, but ...............? I don't believe it changed the installation, so if you get a new one either under warranty or otherwise, it should be the new type. My Redline is an early 2008, and there is no sign of any kind of wear at all. Something else to think about. I reckon the Solistice top is identical, but note that market positioning has the Solstice pricing lower than the SKY. If you have to pay for it, it might be worth looking to see it the pontiac part price is also lower.

Reedred has good points, but is the warrantee transferable? I don't remember.

The bumper to bumper warranty is transferable. I'm not sure about the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

The Solstice was introduced with a thinner top and the option to purchase the thicker one that was always standard on the Sky. They are interchangable. If you're finding a lower price on a Solstice top, it's because it's the lighter one that trades soundproofing for lighter weight on the track.
