In one fell swoop, General Motors will create what automakers have spent decades trying to avoid: a significant independent dealer group that can negotiate with automakers from a position of power on matters governing pricing, vehicle features, and design.

And now the SATURN DEALER is the customer! Ah, isn't feedback wonderful! Saturn will become a pull system, instead of a GM factory pushed system. This will be an interesting transition to watch.

I think this is great. It is about time.

I wonder if the GM/Penske deal contains the same clause as the GM/Opel/Magna/Sbermbank deal in that GM can buy back Saturn in the future when the economy and GM's business turns around?
