Its one thing to deliver a prototype. Its quite another to mass-produce at a market-friendly price with o.e.-levels of durability.

Agreed. And please notice that they used the LIGHTER last gen VUE? The new all steel VUE get worse gas mileage.. Go polymer, go!
They don't build them like they used too.
