Default Warranty Information

A new story entry has been added:

[drupal=3143]Warranty Information[/drupal]

Quote:
Even though GM has filed for bankruptcy, the bankruptcy court is allowing General Motors to continue using money to fund their daily operating activities including honoring customer warranties. GM has issued these instructions specific to Saturn owners regarding their warranties: Under the terms of the warranty, the customer should first attempt to bring their vehicle to any Saturn retailer for warranty service. If there is no retailer in their immediate

To quote part of the article:
"GM requires that their service shops repair each and every GM brand vehicle in an emergency situation or if the dealership has ever sold the vehicle as a used car. However, Consumer Reports stated in an article today that these internal policies are not adhered to by every GM dealer. If you do need an emergency repair on your Saturn and your local retailer has gone out of business, it is recommended that you first call the GM dealer you wish to visit to verify that they have the tools and parts available to perform the service."

Everyone states for a fact that every GM dealer will fix your Saturn. That's what GM would like you to believe. I and others have said before that any repairs, warranty or not, are at the discretion of every dealer. These independent franchises can do what they want. GM can't hold a gun to their head to guarantee anything. It's caveat emptor regarding buying a new Saturn and expecting warranty service anywhere and everywhere.

x2. Pretty unbelievable IMO, but you're on your own if you buy a Saturn now.

I am so sick of this game GM is playing with saturn owners. WE HAVE GM CARS it says GM on the glass and on the sides of the cars. Oh GM says we can bring out cars to any GM dealer but good luck trying to get it fixed under warranty.

GM you took our Plastic Saturn away and made them just like any other GM car but you won't fix them. I call that a "Flat Leaver" !!!
