1993 SL2
|
Hi peeps, my 1993 SL2's instrument panel is barely readable at night as most of the bulbs in the panel have burnt out. I need to replace the bulbs. Especially the speedo, there's ZERO lighting behind it. I can't seem to figure out how to remove the cover panel without destroying everything. And those who don't know 100% will damage something trying.
HAs anybody done this? Where do I start on these cars? thanks.

I believe there is a video in the How-To library. I did it on my car and it was extremely easy.

I have a 2 part document that I wrote titled
Removing the Instrument Cluster The first part describes how to remove the Instrument Cluster. Do a search for the write up. I wrote it in August 2007.... I have pictures in my gallery. If you go to www.odometergears.com they have my writeup posted on their website on how to get into the Instrument Cluster. ... You'll find out the bulbs are expensive buggers to replace. Just a word of experience after replacing the bulbs that were out and putting the dash back together, the jostling of the repair often results in burning out more bulbs - basically pushing marginal bulbs to burn out. There have been several posts on converting to LED lights that you might want to read. My next bulb replacements will be LED bulbs.
