Thumbs Up Re: Automotive News: Saturn Wants to Pick New Manufacturer by September 1

Get Peugeot-Citroen over here! I once read that they are very interested in re-entering the U.S market (Peugeot exited the U.S. in 1992; Citroen was long gone by then). Now could be the right time to get back in the game with some seriously good product. The company's been designing superb vehicles of all sizes for at least the last ten years (the Peugeot 406's fine looks stole my heart in 1996; unfortunately, it was never sold in America). PSA Group's cars are beautiful, fuel-efficient and unique. Furthermore, they know powertrains, and their diesel technology is the best in the world. Peugeot-Citroen is very successful in Europe and elsewhere, and I'd like nothing more than to see their products ride piggyback on Saturn's excellent dealership network and good name.

I wonder if diesel is even a consideration for the States?

Because that's what Saturn was all about - proving that the United States could still compete by importing cars from overseas rather than designing and building them here!
