2008 VUE 3.6L
Default fender vent removal

anyone remove them for whatever reason? my Vue is black and I'm thinking about painting the little gray frame thing around the front fender vents. Wondering if they just pop off or what.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Yes, this would be helpful to know. Not sure if I want to paint mine or what yet. I'm also planning an LED overhaul once it warms up a little more and knowing how to get to the little lamp in the fender vent would be nice, too.

hope that helps. good luck...

if your hand/arm is thin enough, you can just squeeze in there and twist/remove socket to change bulb. its a 194 type bulb.

If the bulb hasn't burned out, why would you want to replace it with an LED?

brighter bulb plus it looks white when its not lite. Im think Im going to be replacing all the amber bulbs on both the Vue and the Goat with chrome bulbs for the clear look when not lite.

What is the number of the bulb and was there anything special that you had to do to go from a standard bulb (194) to a led?

bulb type 194

SIDE MARKER ONLY = nothing special needed, plug n play

and for others wondering;
if you replace any other turn signal with LED, YOU WILL NEED TO ADD RESISTORS OR CHANGE TURN RELAY TO A LED COMPATIBLE ONE

I've also changed the reverse light to a white led (nothing special needed, plug n play)

I am going to buy paint for the gray fender vents today, if it is not raining I will spray em today as well! I'll post pics when I'm done.

running into a snag here, I am afraid the door will have to be removed to access the two bolts that attach the vent there is no room to get a tool into that small of an area with the door still on, bummer. If anyone knows how to remove the vents any other way, lease let me know. Also, is anyone sure if it is the bolts OR the screws that hold the vent on?

Unfortunately I'm not absolutely sure of the details, but the vent louver is held on by clips, not bolts or screws. It should simply pry out.
