What Can You Do to Help Save Saturn?

I wish enough demand existed to bring back the original Saturn, with polymer clad cars rolling out of Spring Hill. I guess there just wasn't enough of a consumer base, homecomings and loyal following notwithstanding. But if enough people wanted it, it might actually make financial sense for GM to return to Saturn's roots.

That's exactly right. If you want to save Saturn, go buy a brand new Saturn, actually better yet buy 2-5 of them, they need to make up for past poor sales. Otherwise, just sit back and watch the show.

Make all Saturns TDI Diesel. Use already existing engines in the opel division to get the ball rolling and make them california legal. Hopefully GM has a 6 cylinder TDI diesel engine in the works. BMW already has them in the water headed to the US even as this is written.

No balls Bob (Lutz) has delayed such actions before, but hopefully he would see the error of his ways. Its thinking like this that always has GM playing catchup

I dont know if this was completed or not.

When you figure out how to do this tell GM. They don't know. And make sure you keep the cars the same price as their gas counterparts.

I just visited a Saturn dealer in the greater Phoenix area.

This dealer has an add on sticker next to the MSRP sticker and this dealer has mandatory $1,800.00 in junk stuff. Pin stripes, seat material protectorant, paint protector, etc.

They refuse to sell a new vehicle even at MSRP!

Give me a beak!

I figured you meant break, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Plus, the mood here as been so depressing that I thought it would help to lift the mood a bit.

This is also true in the Raleigh, N.C. market. $1,000. add on's. In addition to the paint protection and stripes they have etched theft protection. LOL. They must not be aware the Saturns have Onstar on them. I attended the auto show in Raleigh last week. I was impressed with the Saturn Vue. Went to dealership and test drove. Then saw the add on sticker for $1,000 more than MSRP. I went down the street and purchased a chevy Equinox. Saturn dealers do not deserve to survive.

Saturn of Schaumberg (NW side of Chicago) took an additional $1K off the GM Employee discount when I bought last September. They had already added pinstriping and door guards to the sticker, but then removed those items and the upcharge (at my insistence) prior to delivery... no problem. They even picked me up from O'Hare at 7am and opened the store early so we could complete the transaction! And that was before this whole financial mess even came to light.

So, not all Saturn dealers deserve to die...

I think they list it on the addendum sticker, but it's not always set in stone that you have to buy the stuff.

I have owned three Saturn's since 1992. The first was a SL 1 then a L200 and now an Aura XR. I have no reason to help or save Saturn. They have gone steadily downhill from 1992. The SL 1 was without a doubt the best car ever made. A relative of mine still owns the car now and it still runs!!!! The odometer stopped at about 250000 a year ago. WOW. Naturally I upgraded to the L200 in 2002. A poor example of a Saturn. What hurt the most was the service. I pushed my luck with the Aura in 2007. Beautiful car BUT it has made up my mind never to buy a Saturn again. The Aura has aggravated me to no end. I can understand if the car has a few problems, but fix them. Saturn does not stand by their product. I will not help Saturn.
