we just sold a 95 for 3500 and it had 140,000 miles. 6500 is a pretty good price for a brand new one

My guess is some of the buyers will decide to "flip" these historical cars and we'll see them again, perhaps at eBay.

GM probably earned a fair amount of money from selling all those cars. Before the web page containing the ending prices vanishes from the Internet we need to tally up the sales figures. Oh, the auction company Barrett-Jackson probably made a fair amount of money too.
